Self-similar parts:
Loyal guardians of our stability

Course description

Self-like parts

Self-like parts often bear a great deal of responsibility within our inner systems: they keep us stable, calm, and capable of action. With clarity, reason, courage, or care, they help us master life. In challenging moments, they can react with remarkable prudence and clarity. They frequently become leading parts of our inner system and are closely interwoven with our sense of identity. They remain hidden, reliably on call, and are often overloaded, exhausted, and unacknowledged. At the same time, the invitation to detach themselves somewhat from us can trigger profound insecurity.

About the workshop

In this workshop, we approach these aspects with warmth, respect, and appreciation. Instead of trying to expose them, we learn to truly listen to them with a friendly intention. We focus on their stories and roles, as well as the cultural expectations and inner burdens that may have shaped them.

We will learn to recognize self-like parts within ourselves and in our clients without triggering shame. We will explore ways to gently support these protectors in detaching themselves somewhat from us, so that they feel valued in their efforts and can experience themselves as allies. When self-like parts enter into a trusting relationship with us, a palpable sense of relief often arises: they no longer have to carry everything alone.

The workshop offers space for questions, joint reflection and guided exercises, also in small groups.
