Introduction to IFS –
Information evening & demo

Course description

Would you like to learn about the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model? Our two-part event offers a practical introduction to the theory and principles of IFS.

Part 1: Information Evening (Tuesday, May 21, 2026, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM CET) In this 90-minute information evening, you will learn the fundamentals of IFS in a practical and thorough manner. In addition to an accessible theoretical overview, you will have initial opportunities to gain your own experience working with inner parts. Key topics include:

  • Development of the IFS model

  • Basic assumptions and view of humanity in IFS therapy

  • The three main categories of shares: managers, firefighters, and exiles.

  • The central role of the "self" as an inner healing instance

  • Goals in IFS therapy

  • Advantages and applications in psychotherapeutic practice

Part 2: Demo session (Tue, May 28, 2026, 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM CET)

The demo session (75 min) deepens understanding through a live demonstration of an IFS session, supplemented by expert input and time for questions. This makes the IFS approach and methodology directly tangible and comprehensible.

Target audience

The event is primarily aimed at psychotherapists, clinical physicians with psychotherapeutic qualifications and alternative practitioners for psychotherapy who would like to learn about IFS or deepen their understanding of it.

Lead: Mag. Laura Milojevic

Laura Milojevic is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in systemic family therapy and trauma therapy – and one of the few German-speaking therapists with IFS Level 3 certification.

She completed her IFS training directly at the IFSI in the USA, studying with Richard Schwartz, Ann Sinko, and Einat Bronstein, among others. Since then, she has continuously deepened her expertise through specialized consultation groups and advanced training courses – including those on trauma, eating disorders, addiction, and group work using IFS.

In addition to her therapeutic practice in Vienna, Laura works as a training assistant for the IFS Academy and leads her own introductory IFS workshops for psychotherapists.
